NFL Extends Contract with Visual Data to Include Post Season Games

Dec 7, 2004

Visual Data Corporation (Nasdaq: VDAT), a business services provider of video and rich media communication, webcasting and digital asset management services, today announced that the services it has provided to the National Football League for the current 2004 regular season will be extended into the post season, culminating with the Super Bowl in February, 2005.

The NFL contracted with Visual Data to provide searchable video of every key play for each team to power the NFL's premier Fantasy Extra Football offering, as well as the subscription-based Field Pass, through which users also access live radio game broadcasts.

Visual Data acquires each game's video live via satellite, merges the encoded video streams with radio broadcast audio, and automatically aligns XML statistical feeds from the stadiums to create continuous video highlight reels. These reels are based on the fantasy roster being managed by NFL.com. Additionally, users may scout players across all weeks of the season.

For Field Pass, Visual Data aggregates content from NFL Films, daily NFL Network content, and utilizes the live game media to deliver "Gameday," a comprehensive package of game highlights. Subscribers may watch key scoring drives to deliver a complete NFL recap of the NFL game experience.

Visual Data's Digital Asset Management services have been employed by other major sports organizations as well, including both NASCAR and ESPN. Visual Data also provides searchable video content for some of the PGA's major tournaments, showing golf shots from each famous hole over a 40-year period.
